THERAPY
Merced Chiropractic is proud to announce the addition of TWO full time massage therapists to our staff. Both are amazing with their hands and have the experience and skills you need in order to take care of those aches and pains. Our therapists are Ilima Hamilton and Mike Trujillo and both are Certified Licensed Massage Therapists. They each have a different feel to them, so we will fit you with who we best think will work with your body type. At our clinic we try to integrate soft tissue therapy, such as Massage, as an integral part of most our treatment plans in order to accelerate recovery time, and provide longer lasting results to our patients.
BENEFITS OF MASSAGE THERAPY
Beyond the obvious benefits of relaxing tight muscles and reducing stress, skilled application of massage therapy can also help to break the chronic pain cycle that most of our patients live with every day. As we go through our day we tend to ignore the small aches and pains and begin to think of them as "normal". The problem is these "normal" aches and pains are actually our body's way of warning us that something is wrong, and if left untreated they can get out of control and become bigger issues. That is why it is very important to not ignore your body, and to take care of these problems as soon as they occur.
Massage Therapy has been shown to be beneficial for headaches, neck pain, lower back pain, sciatica, shoulder pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome. With massage therapy treatment, you can eliminate your aches and pains without drugs or surgery, and prevent future problems from happening.
Remember, the sooner you seek treatment the faster you will recover.
WILL MY INSURANCE COVER MASSAGE??
The vast majority of insurance plans will cover massage therapy when combined with chiropractic treatment. In most cases you will only be responsible for your co-pay or co-insurance when receiving massage therapy treatment. When our billing company verifies your insurance we will tell you what you are responsible for upfront so there are no suprises.
If your particular plan does not cover massage, then you will only be responsible for a small portion (usually $25 - 30) of our normal fee as long as you receive chiropractic treatment on the same day as your massge. If you do not want chiropractic treatment then you will be considered a cash patient (see rates below).
Medicare does not cover massage therapy, but we offer all medicare patients a significant discount from our standard rates (see below).
